Preserving land for future generations
TIME IS RUNNING OUT
Adjacent to Chief Hazy Cloud Park in Ada, hundreds of mature trees,
thousands of native plants and countless critters thrive along the water’s
edge. Kent County has an opportunity to double the size of Chief Hazy
Cloud Park with this 96-acre parcel. Unfortunately, the County doesn’t
have much time. The property has attracted the attention of several prospective
buyers, and will be sold for development if the County does not move
quickly enough. Help preserve this vital piece of land for future public
use. Contribute to the Land Legacy Fund today.
THE LAND LEGACY FUND
Land and time: two precious and finite resources. Today, Kent County
is in a race against time: working to preserve uniquely valuable parcels
of undeveloped land for public use. Several sites have been identified,
and negotiations are underway. Without adequate funding, however, these
parcels will be lost forever. Aged trees will be cut, acres will be cleared,
houses and strip malls will be built. Help preserve the distinctive natural
character of Kent County with a gift to the Land Legacy Fund. All gifts
will be used only to acquire and preserve land for public use.
